Household Plants
Having a little green around the house is everyone’s desire. People buy various household plants to add color to their living environment. Even those who are unable to keep real plants in their houses try to buy artificial plants just to add a little greenery to their house.
Scientifically it has been proven that greenery is very healthy for humans, it benefits us in various ways. For example, according to popular research, greenery is very healthy for the eyes and helps in maintaining good vision for a longer period of time.
There are different kinds of household plants that people like. Some are expensive and only affordable by the upper class of residents of a society, while others are less expensive and affordable by almost anyone. But it should also be noted that household plants also demand care and looking after.
One cannot abandon the plant as it will reduce its life span. Plants are living creatures like all humans and animals and thus they also need care and devotion by their keeper. Following are some tips on taking good care of household plants;
Watering the plants is the most essential of all the duties. One should always make sure that the plants are properly watered. Also supplying water extensively should also be avoided as excess of water can also drain the essential minerals in the soil and will also create a marshy environment for the plant.
One should supply sufficient quantities of water to the plant everyday and if one is planning to go out for more than a day one should make proper arrangements for the plant to receive fresh water each day.
Sunlight is also very important for many plants. Although there are some indoor plants which can survive without direct contact to sunlight, most of the plants cannot survive without sunlight. Therefore one should place the plants in an area which receives sufficient sunlight.
Photosynthesis is a process that takes place in the plants in the presence of daylight by which they convert carbon dioxide into oxygen which is very important.
Plants should also be placed in a place where they are able to receive fresh air especially at night because like humans plants also breathe and convert oxygen into carbon dioxide. Thus fresh air should be provided to the plants so that they breathe freely.
Keeping plants is not as easy as one might think, they are living creatures and like all living creatures they require care. Although they might not be as demanding as pets and other animals, yet they still need proper care.
